So has anyone else heard of this upcoming game called Spore? It's made by Will Wright, the creator of Sim City and the Sims. Now with Spore, instead of making a house or a city, you make a universe colonised with your creatures. you start with microbes and end up with galaxies! wow. i want it.

EDIT: my friend across the road has the game, here's a quick summary of what i saw!

Well first you choose whether you're a herbivore or a carnivore, but you're not stuck like that for the whole game. you then get control of a tiny microbe type thing! you can go around eating meat or plants or whatever, and if you attack another organism that has a certain attribute (and win) you can get that attribute (like horns, or fins, etc). as you get bigger you encounter more creatures, i couldn't help but go "whoaaaaaaa" at the scale of the game. [this description is not doing it justice]

next, you grow legs! and yeah that's when i went home.

But i got a glimpse of the end stage of the game... a galaxy, with hundreds of plants, there for the taking! epic as. even attack your families planets that they've saved on the pc.

Yeah, there's been heaps of hype about thsi game coming out for months now! Rokeman, grab yourself a Herald Sun, they've got a free starter kit for Spore. You can't do much, but it gives you a good feel for the game! I'm going' to maybe reguister tonight and see if I can do anything else, but as far as I do know, the full version lets you play with the creatures YOU CREATE out of more than a HUNDRED parts in a dynamic landscape. Not sure if this is oly an online feature though. In the starter kit i got you can only create creatures then test drive them in edit mode.

NOTE: This 'Starter Kit' comes fomr a newspaper available in Australia. I've got no idea if it's available in any other way, newspaper or otherwise for other countries.

So anyway, Rokeman, go grab a herald. Or another newspaper, in case i'm wrong. I'm sure it says "Free Spore game" on it, or something.

Anyway, this game will be awesome!!!!

PS: The Starter Kit gives you a discount if you present it at EB games ONLY if you're pre-ordering!!! HELL YEAH!!!

well actually i didn't get that free disc cos i thought it might be a tad corny.... oh well. i'll just wait for the actual game.

I want it so i can make my own world and such already! i am a really big sim city fan, which is why i can't wait for this. it'll give me something to do while i have nothing better to on the way to TAFE next year Smile

I seens it down at EB games, and there be no specials. i think I'll have to wait a while until the price goes down.

I got the game for Christmas, but turns out my video card is one series too short of the minimum Sad
